Estate Agents

Estate agents are an essential part of finding your new home or selling a property as most properties are bought and sold through them.

If you are Buying

Most property is sold now by people looking online. This has replaced the old school newspaper adverts and is much more efficient. Estate agents have their own websites, but most put their properties on Rightmove, Zoopla and/or OnTheMarket as well.

When you want to put an offer in on a property, it is likely that the estate agent will ask you for a “Decision in Principle” which helps reassure them that you have the ability to be able to afford the property you are interested in. Whilst this may seem a bit intrusive, it does help them work out who is serious and who isn’t. It demonstrates to them that you are taking the process seriously and are well informed of how much you can afford to go up to.

Excel Mortgages are able to help here. Give us a call and we can organise a Decision in Principle for you. We have found that people who have a Decision in Principle in place are taken much more seriously by estate agents. If the house you are interested in is popular, you need all the help you can get!

We can also give you “tricks of the trade” to help you get the best from estate agents.
This is all part of the service for our clients.
